We had a situation where we were running 300gsm cardstock on a job with full coverage grey that kept resulting in a hard line showing up on the short side of the print (as opposed to the the feeding path). When the tech came we made a couple changes in the settings that resolved this issue. On the printer's control panel go to:
Paper Setting>Change Individual Setting> Process Adjustment>CPM Down> Select "Down".
Then in Command Workstation go to the job's Properties>Image Tab>Advanced>Image Halftone Screen> Select "Screen 2"
The tech recommended that we run Screen 2 for jobs with lots of halftone, i.e. jobs with heavy coverage like a photo. What this actually does is decrease the printing resolution slightly but the results are usually better. Jobs with lots of techs and vector graphics should be fine with "Screen 1". The tech went on to say that the combination of heavy cardstock with a light halftone makes it difficult to achieve good results with digital presses.
