COPYRIGHT INFORMATION

A copyright release needs to be obtained for any work with copyright info on it - whether it be a stamp, the paper saying it is copywritten or the back printing saying so.

Company Procedures - ideally, the customer will receive written permission from the copyright owner, they can do so via email and forward this to us, or have the copyright owner email us directly.
We WILL NOT contact the copy right owner for the customer, they must do this themselves. We can assist in suggestions on how to best get the permission if they customer seems lost.
If the copyright owner is no longer alive, the company is closed, etc and the reproduction is only being used for personal purposes, the customer can sign a copyright release form. These are located in the filing bin with the order marker stickers. If we run out of these, please ask Gabe to print more. When they are signed, they will go back into that filing system.
If customer has any questions/concerns/is upset by the rules, Glen can always come and discuss these with them.

Olan Mills/Lifetouch - they are very strict on copyrighted materials and have been known to sue companies who duplicate their work - do not take jobs unless customer has received the OK to do the job. We cannot call Olan Mills/Lifetouch on behalf of the customer - it must be a family member to do so. They can have the email copyright release sent to Color Services email if needed. They can call 1-800-251-6320 to get a release. They are located in Minnesota so their time zone is Central - 2 hours ahead of us. They close at 2:30PM our time.
