Edit A Dakis Customer Order
From time to time, a customer will place an order that needs to be edited. The most common reason is that a customer forgot or didn't understand that after they upload their file, the user needs to drag it into the template in order for the system to process the file and reach the next step in the workflow. This page will allow you to edit this job and redownload the job without customer intervention.
Step 1:
Log onto the Dakis Dashboard via mydakis.com. If you don't have a login, you may ask Gabe for one or you can ask Liam to log in.
Step 2:
Step 3:
Step 4:
Click on View Ordered.
Step 5:
Look for the order number you're looking to edit. Then click onto the corresponding pencil icon. That will launch the actual order on the web interface.
Step 6:
Here you can actually see what the customer has uploaded and the edits they made to the template. You may edit this job. If you want to save your changes, make sure to click save to apply those changes.
Step 7:
You will now need to log in via Remote Desktop onto VCSFrontweb. On your desktop, search for "Remote Desktop" and log into "VCSFrontweb". A new remote desktop window will open. Browsing the network to hit the VCSFrontweb location will not work. Once you're logged in, open this shortcut found on the desktop. Or you can open a new browser window within this remote window and find location \\vcsfile\XMLFileDrop. This location is a dedicated spot on the network for the Dakis downloader to drop the XML file so that LabWorks can pick up the job and enter it into our POS system.
Step 8:
NOTE: Read this entire step before proceeding. Open the Dakis Job Downloader window interface and find the job you just edited. You will need to redownload the job. Right click on the job and choose redownload, or simply select the job and then click Crtl+R. The next step needs to be done rather quickly so be prepared. Once you redownload the job, the XML file will be dropped into that file location you just opened in Step 7. The idea is you want to try and delete that xml file before it get processed. Failing to do this, will enter the job into Labworks again creating a duplicate. If you fail to do this in time, make sure you let Glen or Gabe know so that they can void the order in Labworks and avoid further confusion. Also know that another copy of this Dakis work order will automatically print out, since the interface has Auto Print selected. Make sure to either catch that other printout and throw it away, or you can turn off the Auto Print selection before redownloading. Just remember to turn it back on after the job has rerendered.
Step 9:
This is what it will look like when the new XML file is dropped after redownloading the job. Delete this file. Once this job is processed it get moved into the Processed folder or the Failed folder is there's an issue with the LabWorks code within the XML.
Step 10:
The newly redownloaded file should should up in the IPS Order Manager and be pushed to the next step in the workflow as normal.
