Sept 2016: We now have pricing per sq ft set up in Lab Works for odd sizes and people who bring us items to mount that were not printed by us. Details: Under mounting in laminating, there is now a sub department titled, "mounting and laminating sq/ft" There will be 2 choices for each thickness gatorfoam: normal or not printed by Color Services. The 30% increase is factored in the price per sq. ft. for mounting prints not printed by Color Services. Once you have chosen the correct price code all that is needed is to enter the measurements of the piece and the price will be computed.

Mounting on aluminum - fine art prints

We use 3m tape (3m VHB tape. We order from Uline cat # S-16123) for adhering the wood hangers to the back

We purchase the aluminum from Ventura Metals / VC metals. Aluminum type is 5052-H32. - 1560 Eastman Ave, Ventura, CA 93003 (805) 644-2100

The thickness of the aluminum is .055 which is the approx. thickness of a penny. It takes about 5 working days to get it. They only deliver on Tuesday & Thursday.

Is our Mounting Adhesive acid-free? Yes. We purchase 2 types of mounting adhesives from Coda and they are both acid-free, PH-neutral. (We cannot say that they are archival because that includes many more factors such as the ability to remove the print from the substrate and that is not possible. Our mounting adhesives are permanent.)

INSTALLATION NOTES[edit]

1. Benchmark Menu Board is 15 feet wide x 21 inches tall. It is printed in 2 sections on vinyl with matte lamination and applied to 3mm / 1/8 inch sintra. For installation do NOT use a level as the main metal piece is not level. Measure 2 inches from top edge and mark with blue painters tape. It is applied with VHB tape which is purchased through Grainger. This is applied to the new piece to be installed. It should be approx 2 inches away from the edge.

2. On The Alley (OTA ) Ventura (VTA) has 3 menu boards for menus—Beverage Menu, Main Menu, and Brophy's Menu. Actual sizes of boards:
Beverage: W= 69 inches H= 37 inches
Main: W= 108 inches H= 37 inches
Brophy's: W= 69 inches H= 37 inches

We print the actual menu on vinyl and laminate with 3M matte lamination. We print the menus smaller than the actual board size. Here are the details for each menu:
Beverage: W= 68 inches H= 36 inches
Main: W=107 inches H= 36 inches
Brophy's: W=68 inches W= 36

For installation purposes Ventura OTA: after the pieces have been laminated, please run them through the laminator with a small amount of heat. This relaxes the laminate, which results in easier installation. Use blue tape to mark top edges and one side of originals before removing.

3. Window Cling Material. This material is applied to the inside of the glass facing out. It can be double sided or single sided. To install remove the clear backing which will expose the adhesive. Spray (fine mist) soapy water on the glass that it is being applied to as well as the exposed piece of window cling material. When both pieces have been sprayed then begin applying the material. Use a squeegee to remove the water underneath which in turn should eliminate the air bubbles as well.
